During the past months, our state, community and family was affected by one of the worst natural disasters in the history of Alabama. Life for some of us will never be the same again. When tragedy like this strikes, our hopes for security and peace can be shattered. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Life moves on, and the world still turns. Life requires us to move forward and face our responsibilities, sometimes feeling restless, hopeless.
How has the devastation by the recent tornado impacted your life? How have you and others learned to find comfort in this time of suffering and uncertainty?

ReplyDeleteThe tornado really didn't have that much of an impact directly on my life.
ReplyDeleteI had family that were directly in the path of the tornado. Thankfully their lives and homes were spared, however it has made me realize how much I do not stay in touch with them. It has also shown me once again the mightiness of power of God and how gracious and merciful He is. It has been amazing to participate in the relief efforts and see so many come to the need and aid of people they do not even know - yet knowing roles just as easily could have been reversed.

ReplyDeleteI did not personally experience any loss or damage. But unfortunately, my wife had family members that lived in Pleasant Grove. We toured the damaged neighborhoods and the chaos and devastation were unimaginable.
ReplyDeleteI had several family members that were affected by the tornado. I tourned their damaged neighborhood. My heart goes out to these people.

ReplyDeleteThe tornado did no damage to me or my family. But seems that it united my community like nothing I have seen before.

ReplyDeleteI live in a rural neighborhood that was directly affected by the tornado. I thank God that my family and home were spared.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has working to help clean the destruction up on hwy 34 around Still Waters. You truly can not put in words how horrific the destruction is. When you see a house totally destroyed down to the slab with nothing remaining and 2 people survived, you are so thankful for the miracles that still happen! Still continue to pray for those in need.
ReplyDeleteMy family is from Pleasant Grove and were effected by the tornados. My grandmothers house took a direct hit and was in the hospital for a few days. It really showed me that you cannot take life for granted.
ReplyDeleteI have close friends that were effected by this disaster. Thank God their homes and lives were spared. God is good all the time.
